Try these two words with an Arte Johnson accent. They'rrre Grrrrrreat!
“Hell” means bright and “brise” means wind. Lots of renewable wind and solar.
But.
This fcks up the grid like was recently seen in Spain (a week after the government BRAGGED about having 70% renewables in their grid). Physics wins. If you cut electricity off it does not take long before people start killing each other in a blackout. Btw, you can cut off oil for a lot longer before this happens. People just get pissed off sitting in line ups at the gas station.
“Dunkel” means dark and “flaute” mean lull. Little renewable wind and solar.
But.
This means NO renewable electricity unless you have battery storage or baseline nuclear or fossil. Many times it means you've got to buy from elsewhere in a real volatile renewable induced electric marketplace which, depending on the Enron quotient, can cost quite a bit. Btw, traders make lots in this form of rentier capitalism.
Now electricity is a really good thing. Yes it is somewhat (or used to be) cool to drive a Tesla.
But.
The real value of electricity is a stove and a frig for the billion women on this planet who now burn dung and wood in a mud hut so their children can eat cooked food during a very short life that they will have due to all the particulate matter they're inhaling constantly.
Canada will benefit greatly if we go all in on nuclear. We could become the AI powerhouse if we get energy right.
We have the ideal geography for it.
